When Shannon & Daniel were deciding on an elopement location in Washington, even after I helped them narrow down their options, they were having a hard time deciding! The PNW has so many incredible places. So they got on Airbnb.com, and chose the place closest to their favorite cabin they found to stay at! Our plan was to have their wedding ceremony at Artist Point and enjoy the views Mount Baker & Shuksan.
Planning an elopement in the mountains in mid October can be risky. You have no idea what weather you’re going to get. But Shannon & Daniel were up for the adventure, so we planned the best day ever. Due to winter road closures, we were not able to drive up to their original planned ceremony site. That’s why hiring an elopement photographer who knows the area and locations is extremely important! I already had our plan B timeline and locations ready for their day. So we drove up past Picture Lake, to the Heather Meadows trailhead. It was an incredibly beautiful clear autumn day, with a few snow patches on the trail. After their private ceremony, they toasted with champagne, and enjoyed a sunset in the mountains.
