In July I vacationed in Italy to celebrate my 5 year wedding anniversary (and England, and France). Here you can find Part I (Positano) Part II (Rome) and Part III (Florence). Chianti was our forth stop in Italy.
We wanted to visit Chianti to experience the beauty of tuscany, lounge by the pool for a few days to give us a break from the hot summer, and tour wineries. One of the wineries we visited used to be a castle, we browsed a few shops and a market in a medieval town. The villa we stayed in was also a winery and it was surrounded by olive tree groves and vineyards. It was so wonderful and tranquil.
